SPY "could" fall to below 90. If we have a huge doom and gloom day the abolute most it would fall would be to near 112.00. The more short term possibility is a fall to 117, with a bounce up. Only my opinion, based on the way I am reading charts.

In all reality the SPX and it's correspnding indexes are showing major strength right now. I do like this filter though and plan to read as much as possible on this. ALF if you have any more reading suggestions hook em up.

Alf,

Do you still consider overall market technicals? EX, if SPX is in extreemly overbought territory would you still trade a good long set up?

Do you do any other research when considering a trade?

TIA,

Eman

As a "trader"...you ALWAYS "consider"..."overall market technicals"...ALWAYS !!!

---

NOW...you ask...

"...if SPX is in extreemly overbought territory would you still trade a good long set up..."

The answer to this question is...YES...MAYBE !!!

The PROBLEM with this question is...a good long set up... to YOU....may NOT be a good long set up... TO ME !!!

---

Trading Style...
Temperament...
Risk Tolerance...
Time Horizon...
Account Size...

The list goes on and on...

In the "REAL WORLD" (where some of us reside) ... "actual" trading decisions are very often...MUCH MORE...than "set-ups" !!! imo

Regards,

Ch - ch - changes ...

-----

* I have added a NEW COLUMN to the filter...and updated the original post of this thread. fwiw

The NEW COLUMN (...10^ ) tells me the number of consecutive Closes...either ABOVE (+) or BELOW (-) the EMA(10) !

This is a nice tweak to the "filter / system" (imo) as it provides additional "Trend Info" ...AND...

...further enhances the "at a glance" functionality of the column display.

-----

Ch - ch - ch - ch - changes ...

Just gonna have to be a different man...

Time may change me...

But I can't trace time !!!

The PROBLEM with this question is...a good long set up... to YOU....may NOT be a good long set up... TO ME !!!

=======================================================================

What would you consider a good set up?

I would consider a stock in a good uptrend that has pulled back to a major moving average or a trend line, most if not all the indicators are looking bullish.
