Let's see if this yahoo thing works again. Tvix goes to 9.61.
Did this 8 times so far for 2200 bucks.

Just looking at everything pair trade on C2 the other day, not one has been successful.
I like the concept though.

The challenge with any pair trade is that one side typically loses money, just not as fast as the other side gains. Example - long $10,000 and short $10,000 in a given pair, which closes profitably after 2 weeks for a net gain of $500 (long wins $1000, short loses $500). Your gain is really only $500/$20,000 or 2.5% versus the 10% win going long only. The cost of the balanced hedge hurts you somewhat even though the strategy may be highly successful.
These systems win% are always looking crappy since half the trade are usually at a loss. That is the way the system is designed, though.

I think best to go with ETFs, not stocks if doing so. What is the rate of success with pairs and what kind of return can you expect?

The secret to making good money at C2 is to make a respectable amount like 60-120%
but also keeping the drawdown to under 25%. Seems like you can cleanup with a low drawdown.
I see the top systems with 15 plus subscribers, selling for 150 month.

When I was running Pangolin Z out of C2, it netted 34% (versus 17% for the S&P) with a low drawdown of like 9%. I had over 50 paying subscribers at one point with a monthly cost of $49. It was one of the top systems, but like almost all C2 systems most people take the free week or two and then leave. Eventually the paying subs dropped to about 10 and I opted to close out all of my systems at C2 and share the full code here.
If I return to C2 with new systems I'll follow the same approach.

Thing with me is I can return 200% but lack the discipline to keep my drawdowns low. Too compulsive.
I really think those days are done on C2. Now you have to return around 70%+ with low DD. And it seems like there are less subscribers.

crazy day with tvix ! bought as just a hedge on the retirement account, 2000 sh at 9.65. sellers were trying to move it down, offset by many buyers....so it had sideways movement and even went up with the market. spiked over the high from the morning a little bit ago. hope it gaps up.

I will admit to being confused by that move in the VIX as well. I know we've seen a couple of instances of volatility moving up with the market recently, but it still surprises me every time it happens. Tomorrow has to show a retracing, I would expect. The rubber bands are all stretched to their limits right now.

it was a strange day. Even XIV hit 47.07, faltered a bit, then went to 47.20 and the S&P kept rising while XIV fell to below 46.
